Klippe Rivier Country House

Klippe Rivier Country House is a magnificent Cape Dutch Homestead circa 1820, on the outskirts of Swellendam, a picturesque and historic town only two hours from Cape Town and the Garden Route. It stands in a tranquil setting, surrounded by orchards and farmlands.

The 'waenhuis' (wagon house) and stables have been converted into six spacious, individually styled bedrooms with separate bathrooms. Upstairs loft bedrooms have spacious terraces while downstairs bedrooms have fireplaces and walled herb gardens. A secluded thatched cottage, ideal for couples and honeymooners, has a fireplace and a separate bathroom.
After taking a stroll to the gum trees at the top of the farm, guests can cool off in the salt-water swimming pool. Activities such as canoeing, golfing, and horse riding through the local forests can be arranged independently.
